Uniting for Good
Seven Rotary Clubs (RC Kira, RC Sonde, RC Nsasa, RC Kampala Impala, RC Kampala Early Bird, RC Kampala Morning Stars, RC Saturday E-Jazz) have joined forces to transform lives in Mpigi, a community with pressing challenges in healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and water access. This collaboration leverages Rotary International’s Seven Areas of Focus to drive meaningful change through sustainable solutions.
The Challenges We Found
The visit to Mpigi revealed key challenges affecting the community:
- Healthcare Gaps: A small and under-equipped Health Centre III with a high maternal health burden, lack of essential medical equipment, and inadequate hygiene facilities.
- Education Struggles: A primary school serving 326 children with poor infrastructure, sanitation issues, and insufficient learning materials.
- Economic Challenges: Underutilized community resources like sewing machines, a tractor, and bakery equipment due to leadership gaps and lack of sustainable project management.
- Water & Sanitation Issues: Limited access to safe water and poor sanitation facilities in schools and health centers
